India’s healthcare and pharmaceutical industry is entering a new phase of capability-driven expansion, with projections indicating the creation of 2 to 2.5 million jobs by 2030. However, this growth comes with a structural shift, as nearly 30 to 35 per cent of the workforce will require reskilling to meet evolving industry demands. The transformation is being driven by technological integration, rising specialization, and expansion across segments such as telemedicine, diagnostics, and life sciences.

The Chhattisgarh government has launched an ambitious initiative to strengthen its public healthcare infrastructure by establishing a statewide network of diagnostic laboratories under the “Atal Arogya Labs” program. In collaboration with HLL Lifecare Limited, the project aims to expand access to quality diagnostic services across districts, hospitals, and primary health centers. The first facility is set to open in Jagdalpur on April 14.

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi has received a significant philanthropic contribution of Rs. 75 crore from alumnus Anant Yardi, founder of Yardi Systems.
