India’s electric vehicle (EV) market continues to gather momentum, with JSW MG Motor India reporting a sharp 66 per cent rise in EV sales during FY26. The company sold 62,591 units compared to 37,730 units in the previous fiscal, reflecting robust consumer demand and growing acceptance of clean mobility solutions. Monthly performance also remained strong, with March sales rising 19 per cent year-on-year. The success was largely driven by the MG Windsor model, which maintained its leadership position in the domestic EV segment.

Czech automaker Skoda Auto India reported a 17% increase in vehicle sales during the first quarter (January–March) of CY 2026, reaching 20,028 units compared with 17,138 units in the same period last year. Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd (TMPV) reported a robust 29% increase in total sales for March 2026, reaching 66,971 units compared with 51,872 units in March 2025. Domestic passenger vehicle sales accounted for 66,192 units, marking a 28% year-on-year growth, while international sales more than tripled to 779 units from 256 units. TVS Motor Company reported a robust 25% growth in total sales, reaching 5,19,358 units in March 2026, compared with 4,14,687 units in the same month last year. The surge was driven by strong domestic demand across motorcycles, scooters, and electric vehicles (EVs). Domestic two-wheeler sales grew 25%, motorcycles rose 18%, and scooters climbed 31%. Notably, EV sales demonstrated significant momentum, increasing 44% year-on-year to 38,877 units, highlighting the company’s strategic shift toward sustainable mobility.

Honda Cars India reported a total sales decline of 18.41 per cent in March 2026, selling 10,036 vehicles compared to 11,884 units in March 2025. Domestic sales stood at 7,585 units, while exports contributed 2,451 units. Despite the overall decline, popular models such as Amaze and Elevate continued to witness strong demand. The automaker highlighted plans to enter the new fiscal year with an expanded lineup, including the launch of its first battery electric vehicle (BEV) in the second half of FY27.
