Delhi has introduced stricter regulations governing the supply of commercial LPG cylinders, mandating businesses to adopt or apply for piped natural gas (PNG) connections in areas where such infrastructure exists. The move aims to streamline fuel distribution, enhance safety, and accelerate the shift toward cleaner energy alternatives. Under the revised framework, only registered commercial and industrial consumers who comply with PNG application requirements will be eligible for LPG supply. 

Delhi’s municipal finances have received a significant boost as property tax collections recorded a sharp rise in the financial year 2025–26. Driven by stronger compliance, targeted enforcement, and a well-structured amnesty scheme, collections increased by over 46 percent year-on-year to Rs 3,116.62 crore. The number of taxpayers also expanded notably, reflecting improved participation and administrative efficiency. The development signals a structural shift in urban revenue mobilization, enhancing fiscal stability for the city’s civic body.

A deadly fire in a multi-storey residential building near Palam Metro Station has claimed at least nine lives, including three children, while leaving several others seriously injured. The incident, which occurred in southwest New Delhi, triggered a large-scale emergency response involving nearly 30 fire tenders.
